Folks, as you may remember, we had a discussion at the August residency wrap-up meeting about arrangements for January lunches. The options were to have lunches at the Maron or to give everyone time off to get their own lunch. My sense was that the preference was to provide time for everyone to get their own. It looks like that probably will not happen and that we will do the Maron again, and here’s why. The reason we’re going off campus in the first place is the university’s policy on closure in the event of bad weather (everything closes). If there is a blizzard, then people aren’t going to want to be driving around town in search of lunch; we’re better off being able to count on lunch (and backup meeting space) at the Maron. So that will be the plan. See you in January!
