Mentor Daniel Asa Rose — book to movie!

Mentor Daniel Asa Rose’s marvelous memoir, LARRY’S KIDNEY, is scheduled to be made into a movie. Will Ferrell will play Daniel! I’m completely thrilled for him and excited to hear the details!

It’s rare that books are optioned and rarer still that options pan out. For instance, this fascinating article in the Wall Street Journal details the 15 years it took for Lee Child’s Jack Reacher to hit the big screen. (Most options, by the way, are granted for far less money than you’ll read about in the WSJ article.)

That’s awesome, Daniel. I envision a move to Hollywood and the overseas set to make sure they get the script right.

  6. you guys are great. thank you for your kind words. it’s important to note that this is not a done deal: there are still a million ways it could stall out. but if/when it happens, let’s have a WestConn party! after all, you guys were my first audience for it, and i bounced a million ideas off you as i was writing it. a lot of your suggestions are incorporated in the final product. where shall we celebrate???
