Promoting the Housatonic Book Awards

Dear Students, Faculty, and Alumni,

All hands on deck! We need your help in promoting the MFA program’s new Housatonic Book Awards!

The awards will go to books published in 2013 in Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, Professional Writing, and Writing for Middle Grades and YA. The recipients will appear at residencies to offer workshops and give readings.

Please share this link and info with ALL of your friends who are authors, publishers, agents, or who may have connections with any such folks. It is important to spread the word as widely and as frequently as possible so that we can make these awards a big success for the program.

Please see the link below for info, guidelines, and entry form/online entry. I have also posted this link to Facebook on my own page and on the MFA page. Share it! Tweet it! Sing it out loud!

The Housatonic Book Awards are co-sponsored by the MFA Alumni Writers’ Cooperative (AWC), whose work is absolutely essential to the awards. Much thanks, specifically, to Ron Samul, Cara Petitti, Holly Azevedo, Brian Thiem, Andy Alexander, Stef Botelho, Vinnie Kmetz, Becca Simas, and Kateri Kosek for their help on the awards thus far. There will be more information coming on the blog regarding activities of the AWC.

p.s. We need Chairs for the Middle/YA and Prof Writing selection panels. If you might be interested, get in touch with me.

  2. I forwarded the announcement to all the bookstores I know, and then, to all the peeps on my list who live very far away. It’s time for our MFA to become famous.

Yes, please, everyone spread the word far and wide, especially to writer friends and publishers/editors/agents!
